A sometimes controversial look at Alzheimer’s disease and Alzheimer’s like symptoms. From a full time ex-caregiver that journeys off the beaten path. You may not agree with me but I will make you think.
I was a full time Alzheimer’s caregiver for my mother for over ten years. The last 4 years of her life I was her sole caregiver 24/7/365. In doing this I have seen everything. Starting with Alzheimer’s symptoms and through all stages of Alzheimer’s.
When this started I already new the symptoms of Alzheimer’s. I had seen it rear it’s ugly head in the parents of friends. One day I noticed something while my mother talked to me that scared me to death. No one else noticed it. It was the early symptoms of Alzheimer’s.
I’ve noticed that even people that have family members with Alzheimer’s don’t know a lot about it. So I’m going to post information I think may help you. I’ll try to direct you to good resources. I’m going to have articles that will hopefully help you.
I’m also going to write about some of the natural things you can do use that help.
While I’m in the process of adding to this blog you may find useful Alzheimer’s information at one of these places.
Alzheimer’s Association
Alzheimer’s Foundation
Alzheimer’s Institute
There will come a day when the best information, for the patient, is available without the control of government, insurance, medical and pharmaceutical companies. I think there was a time when they could be trusted. I may be wrong. Now it’s big business and big dollars. It’s sad that control and profits are allowed to be a part of our health. I wish it were different.
If you found me, my blessings, prayers and thoughts are of you.
My mom is in the last stage of Alzheimers. Thank you for telling it how it is. I am heart broken but appreciate your writing.
